National Apprenticeship Week Events

National Apprenticeship Week -- a nationwide celebration and showcase of apprenticeship programs and apprentices --  is Nov. 15 to 21, 2021. View more information.

Nov. 16, 2021, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. – Twin Cities Metro Region Virtual Registered Apprenticeship Panel and Career Fair

  • We're hosting a virtual employer panel to discuss how registered apprenticeship has impacted businesses and their efforts to recruit, train and retain top talent. An interactive, virtual career fair hosted by CareerForce and Metro Workforce Region 4 will follow the panel discussion. Apprenticeship panel is 2 to 3 p.m.; Interactive Virtual Career Fair is 3 to 5 p.m. Register to attend.

Nov. 16, 2021, 4:30 to 6 p.m. – Buhler Inc. Open House  

  • Buhler Inc. is hosting an open house to showcase its apprenticeship program. The event includes a facility tour and attendees will hear from current apprentices and meet program staff. Location:  Buhler Inc., 13105 12th Ave. N., Plymouth, MN  55311

  • Construct Tomorrow is hosting an event for high school students and educators in the Mankato area. Students receive one-on-one advice from trade professionals and current apprentices. View more information and register.

Nov. 18, 2021, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Registered Apprenticeship Virtual Panel Discussion for School Counselors and Educators

  • In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week and Women in Apprenticeship Day, we're partnering with the Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council and Women Building Success to conduct a victual panel discussion for school counselors and educators. The panel will feature apprenticeship experts and include an overview of apprenticeship, details about registered apprenticeship as a career pathway and ways to connect students and young adults to apprenticeship. Women Building Success will showcase tradeswomen apprentices providing virtual trade demonstrations. Register here for the panel.

Introduction to Apprenticeship Presentations

Join representatives from Apprenticeship Minnesota at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry to learn about registered apprenticeship and the benefits of growing and sustaining an innovative workforce. As a strategy to meet your need for skilled workers while increasing engagement and retention, registered apprenticeship offers a time-tested employee training system that can be customized to meet the needs of any business. There is no cost to attend. Each month we will feature a specific industry or community-based organization.
