The municipality that joins into this type of delegation agreement with us is responsible for all required inspections, including:

  • Conducting cursory plan review to familiarize the inspector with the project (main plan review completed by us).

  • Issue permits and maintain all records (however, no permits may be issued until written approval received from the agency).

  • Overseeing special Inspections.

  • Adhering  to all applicable agency plan review policies.

  • Performing all required inspections for compliance with state-approved plans and the State Building Code.

  • Reviewing change orders and addendums for code compliance.

  • Issuing certificates of occupancy where applicable after final inspection of the project.

Fire protection system inspections

The individual conducting fire protection system inspections for the municipality must be qualified to conduct these types of inspections.

Fees

For permitting and inspection of projects under this delegation agreement, the municipality may charge up to 25-percent of its normal plan review fee for the cursory plan review. It may charge its normal fee for permits.
