Eligibility requirements

An employer associated with a registered apprenticeship program (RAP) or a RAP itself is eligible to request reimbursement through the Supportive Services for Registered Apprentices Fund (SSRAF) if it meets all of the following requirements:

  • Maintain a registered apprenticeship program in good standing with DLI.

  • Provide eligible supportive services to individuals who are registered apprentices.

  • Provide eligible supportive services during an individual's registered apprenticeship to support retention and successful program completion.

  • Registered apprentices receiving supportive services must be retained in the RAP for a minimum of three months.

  • Registered in SWIFT before submitting an application.

Reimbursement limits

The maximum total reimbursement for each eligible RAP or employer in a state fiscal year (July 1-June 30) is $4,999 and the minimum is $250. This amount includes both one-time and on-going expenses.

Submissions for one-time expenses must be no less than $250 and the maximum for both one-time and on-going expenses should not be more than $4,999. If a RAP or employer submits a reimbursement for less than the maximum amount, the RAP or employer can submit multiple reimbursements until it reaches the cap at $4,999 per state fiscal year.

Example:
RAP X provides uniforms and tools to Joe. The total cost is $400. RAP can submit a reimbursement request for $400. Two months later in the same fiscal year, RAP provides gas cards and safety equipment to John. The total cost is $800. The RAP can submit another reimbursement request to SSRAF.
