Alterations

Prior to beginning an alteration to a manufactured home, documentation for the proposed alteration must be submitted for review to this agency or the local authority having jurisdiction. Alterations to electrical systems or components require application for permit and inspection by a Minnesota electrical inspector.

New online permit system

For municipalities without an appointed building official, you need to create an account in our new plan review and permit system. Once your plan has been approved, you need to find a certified building official to perform the inspections.

Submit a permit application for manufactured home alteration.

Note: A new online system launched June 22, 2020. Users must create a new account to obtain and pay fees. Contractors must link to their license before obtaining permits.

For municipalities that enforce the Minnesota Building Code, visit Local Code Lookup for information to contact your jurisdiction.
