New permit system

A new permit system launches summer 2020Subscribe for email updates to be notified when the system launches, how to set up a new account and related news.

  • Permits for existing projects will migrate, so any work-in-progress will be available and completed in the new system once it launches.

  • Once the new system launches, users must create a new account to request permits. Existing payment accounts created through U.S. Bank will continue to work.

Only licensed elevator contractors may install, maintain, alter, repair or test elevators and elevator-related devices in Minnesota. Permits are required for the installation, alteration and removal of elevators. Permits for repairs are limited to what is identified in rule.
