Due to a new appropriation during the 2023 Legislative Session, five additional partnerships across Minnesota will receive funding to develop and expand programs to offer meaningful career exposure and paid work experience for students 16 years of age and older.  
Seven organizations will be awarded grants as part of Minnesota's new earned sick and safe time law, which goes into effect Jan. 1 and requires employers to provide paid leave to employees who work in the state. The grants will be used to promote education, outreach, communication, engagement and training to build worker and employer understanding about Minnesota laws relating to earned sick and safe time.

Twelve partnerships across Minnesota will receive funding to develop and expand programs to offer meaningful career exposure and paid work experience for students 16 years of age and older. The grants are part of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s (DLI’s) Youth Skills Training (YST) program that was signed into law in 2017 with bipartisan support to create and provide employment training for student learners ages 16 and older in high-growth, high-demand occupations.
The Minnesota Plumbing Code contains information about approved materials, safe installation methods and basic plumbing principles. It is important to hire knowledgeable, qualified plumbers and plumbing contractors to make the proper decisions regarding the best materials and methods for plumbing installation. It regulates the design and installation of plumbing systems statewide for all buildings including new, addition, alteration, repair and replacement. 
Expedited permanent rules regulating window cleaning methods; Minnesota Rules part 1305.3114 Pursuant to amendments to Minnesota Statutes § 326B.106, subdivision 4 (m), the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) is required to adopt rules requiring window cleaning safety features that comply with a nationally recognized standard as part of the Minnesota State Building Code. The statute directs the commissioner to adopt the rules under the expedited rulemaking process in Minn. Stat. § 14.389.
