DLI announces the availability of $30,000 grant for the Women’s Economic Security Act (WESA) to encourage, promote, increase and support the participation of women and people of color in apprenticeship programs registered with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
Dual-training recognition badge Minnesota Dual-Training Pipeline invites employers using a dual-training program for workforce development to apply for a dual-training recognition badge. By securing this recognition, businesses and organizations are more likely to attract quality-seeking employees and experience increased retention among their employees. Pipeline staff will review the application and notify the employer regarding the recognition opportunity:
Complete and submit a monthly or quarterly report online or view/print a previously submitted report Download a monthly reporting form if your municipality has a population of 20,000 or more. Download a quarterly reporting form if your municipality has a population of less than 20,000.

Complete the Residential Building Contractor or Remodeler License Application and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Criminal Background Check forms. Pay the license fee and Contractor Recovery Fund fee. Ensure that your qualifying person’s Q registration is active. If it has been inactive for more than two years, he or she will have to retake the license exam. Submit all required attachments.

We license and regulate construction work performed in Minnesota and investigate complaints to determine whether violations of the state laws and rules governing the construction industry have occurred. While there is no state license required for mechanical contractors, businesses must file a $25,000 mechanical contractor bond with DLI in order to contract to perform gas, heating, ventilation, cooling, air conditioning, fuel burning or refrigeration work. The bond must be on the form approved by DLI and written by a surety company licensed to do business in Minnesota. Your insurance agent can help you obtain a bond from a licensed surety company.
