Apprenticeship Day - Integer

Integer, one of the largest medical device contract development and manufacturing organizations in the world, was facing difficulties filling toolmaker positions due to a low number of graduates from technical schools in the region. Like most trades, a significant portion their workforce is nearing retirement age.

In 2022, Integer chose to combat this worker shortage by creating an associate toolmaker registered apprenticeship program. 

In their program, the two current apprentices have learned quickly from experienced toolmakers who had the desire to mentor new talent. Not only does this program help fill immediate talent needs but ensures training is consistent for the future.

Integer looks forward to seeing more apprentices benefit from mentorship and watching the skilled workforce grow while improving employee retention, morale and tenure.
