SEIU apprentices

SEIU Local 26, in partnership with Minnesota Training Partnership, registered its window cleaner over 24 feet apprenticeship program in 2021. In spring 2025 they celebrated their first graduating class of 20 window washers.

This program was created because SEIU Local 26 high-rise window cleaners fought for better training. This program, the first of its kind in the state, requires 144 hours of classroom related instruction and 2,500 hours of supervised on-the-job-training, ensuring everyone in the profession receives the same, necessary skills to practice their trade.

This milestone for Apprenticeship Minnesota and SEIU Local 26 shows how creating registered apprenticeship programs for a variety of trades and industries can impact worker safety.
