In November 2016, we were awarded an ApprenticeshipUSA State Expansion Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.  Four local partners were included in our APEX proposal to support efforts to expand apprenticeship opportunities in construction to women, people of color and veterans. The municipality that joins into this type of delegation agreement with us is responsible for all required inspections, including: Conducting cursory plan review to familiarize the inspector with the project (main plan review completed by us). Issue permits and maintain all records (however, no permits may be issued until written approval received from the agency). Overseeing special Inspections. Adhering  to all applicable agency plan review policies.

This chapter of the State Building Code governs the design, installation, alteration, repair, removal, operation and maintenance of various types of elevators and conveying equipment. This list includes but is not limited to passenger elevators, freight elevators and escalators. Minnesota's elevator code consists of the following: Safety Codes for Elevators and Escalators. The ASME A17.1-2016 is for new and altered installations. This standard also covers maintenance and testing requirements for existing elevators.

In Minnesota, everyone engaged in the business of interior plumbing installations must be licensed plumbers or registered apprentices.  No person, firm or corporation can plan or install, nor install plumbing in connection with the dealing in and selling of plumbing material and supplies unless  --  at all times -- a plumbing contractor, a licensed master plumber or restricted master plumber, who is responsible for proper installation, oversees the plumbing work.
