Continuing education course sponsors must obtain approval from us prior to offering a course for credit. To request approval for a course:
Submit a Continuing Education Course Application form and fee at least 30 days before the first date the course will be offered.
$20 for each credit hour or fraction of an hour (i.e., 1.5 hours = 2 hours)
Use the total number of hours being requested in the fee formula

In Minnesota, residential building contractor, roofer, remodeler and manufactured home installer businesses -- not individual owners -- require a license (though an individual operating as a sole proprietor is required to become licensed as an individual). However, each company must designate one individual who will serve as the qualifying person regardless of whether the licensee is an individual proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company (LLC) or corporation.
Chapter 1315 of the Minnesota State Building Code adopts a national standard for the installation of electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment for electric light, heat, power, technology circuits and systems, and alarm and communication systems. Minnesota's electrical code consists of the National Electrical Code as published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1311, Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry requests comments on its proposed amendments to Minnesota Rules, chapter 1311, “Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings.” The department is proposing rule amendments that incorporate by reference the 2024 edition of the International Existing Building Code, with amendments, and any other amendments necessary to administer and enforce the code for rehabilitation of existing buildings.
