The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) has released a report of the earnings, working conditions and options for pay standards for transportation network company (TNC) drivers. As required by Executive Order 23-07, issued by Gov. Tim Walz, the report details the findings of the study and driver survey and offers a range of pay standard options.

What is a business structure change?
A business structure change occurs when one legal business structure replaces another legal business structure to contract for and perform licensed work. These changes require applying for a new license for the new business entity.

The Construction Worker Wage Protection Act (CWWPA) gives construction workers the right to seek their unpaid wages from the contractor in addition to or instead of the subcontractor that did not pay all of their wages owed. Workers may file a wage claim with the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) or file a claim in court to recover their unpaid wages.

What is water conditioning work?
A water conditioning system is designed to treat water to alter, modify, add or remove mineral, chemical or bacterial content, in a water distribution system. Water conditioning work includes the installation and servicing of water conditioning systems in:
a single-family residential unit, which has been initially established by a licensed plumber, and does not involve a direct connection without an air gap to a soil or waste pipe; or

Minnesota Rules, Part 1303.2200, Simplified Wind Loads
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry is considering possible amendments to rules governing the Minnesota Provisions of the State Building Code. Specifically, the Department is considering rule amendments that will amend existing Minnesota Rules, part 1303.2200 (Simplified Wind Loads) to correct content and formatting errors in the equation for calculating simplified design wind pressures.
