Plumbing permits and inspection fees must be submitted where plumbing plans are submitted and required inspections will be performed by our agency's plumbing inspectors. Unless there is a plan review agreement with the municipality and inspections will be performed by municipal inspectors licensed as master or journeyworker plumbers, we will inspect installations including:

  1. state-licensed facilities as defined in section 326B.103, subdivision 13;

  2. public buildings as defined in section 326B.103, subdivision 11; and

  3. projects of a special nature for which department plan review and inspection is requested by either the municipality or the department, including all school district and charter school projects regardless of cost, and all dialysis projects.

In addition, in areas that have not adopted the State Building Code, plumbing permits and inspection fees must be submitted and we will perform required inspection of public buildings, including commercial, industrial and licensed facilities.

Lookup plumbing inspection jurisdiction and inspector information.

We will notify submitters of plumbing plans when state plumbing permits and inspection fees are required.
