2026 Spring Seminar
Residential, energy and mechanical code updates
Registration is open for the Construction Codes and Licensing Division’s Spring Seminar designed for construction and building industry professionals.
The seminar will focus on pending changes to the Minnesota Residential Building Code and will highlight new provisions and Minnesota-specific amendments to the 2024 International Residential Code (IRC).

Expanded adoption of IRC chapters and new appendices for innovative construction methods.

Changes to energy, mechanical and fuel gas codes.

Important updates to residential HVAC and ventilation systems.

Opportunity to earn continuing education credits at expanded locations.
Continuing education
Attendees will earn seven hours of continuing education credit for building officials and residential contractor license holders, and includes one hour of Residential Energy Code training, meeting the requirement for Minnesota residential contractor licensing. Seven hours of non-code credit will also be given to plumbing licensure
