Three community-based organizations were awarded grants in 2016 to help encourage, promote, increase and support women and people of color to participate in apprenticeship programs.

In the summer of 2016, Apprenticeship Minnesota announced the availability of $100,000 in grants for the Labor Education Advancement Program (LEAP) and $30,000 in grants for the Women's Economic Security Act (WESA) grants.
