Workplace Safety Consultation -- Logger safety education, on-site training

Minnesota OSHA Workplace Safety Consultation administers the education program for the loggers statute (Minnesota Statutes 176.130) to ensure all Minnesota loggers have the opportunity to obtain safety training. Through assessments collected from the wood mills, funds are redistributed to logger employers upon completion of safety training by their employees.

2013 training dates, locations, registration

Classes are administered by Hibbing Community College. For more information or to register for training, email Barb Johnson. All classes start at 8 a.m.; OSHA class is morning only.

  • Oct. 3, Bemidji -- Holiday Inn:  First aid/CPR and OSHA

  • Oct. 9, Cloquet -- Cloquet Forestry Center:  First aid/CPR and OSHA

  • Oct. 10, Hibbing -- Hibbing Community Center:  First aid/CPR and OSHA

  • Dec. 5, Hibbing -- Hibbing Community Center:  First aid/CPR and OSHA

On-site consultation or training

Minnesota loggers who wish to schedule on-site consultations or on-site safety training sessions, will qualify for the LogSafe training credit, which is the same as attending a scheduled classroom safety seminar.
