Assess damage to state buildings and to assist local governments when requested to assist in damage assessment and other activities related to building code. Advise the State Information Officer of the outcome of such assessments when called upon. Use Construction Codes and Licensing staff for disaster response team. Provide disaster preparedness information upon request. Provide guidelines to administer disaster responses to municipalities and building departments.
Continuing education course sponsors must obtain approval from us prior to offering a course for credit. To request approval for a course: Submit a Continuing Education Course Application form and fee at least 30 days before the first date the course will be offered. $20 for each credit hour or fraction of an hour (i.e., 1.5 hours = 2 hours) Use the total number of hours being requested in the fee formula Include course documentation

In Minnesota, residential building contractor, roofer, remodeler and manufactured home installer businesses -- not individual owners -- require a license (though an individual operating as a sole proprietor is required to become licensed as an individual). However, each company must designate one individual who will serve as the qualifying person regardless of whether the licensee is an individual proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company (LLC) or corporation.
