Plumbing Board Rulemaking

• Chapter 4715: Possible amendment to rules governing the installation and plumbing for "waterless" urinals.
• Adopted Rules: Chapter 4715 relating to the Plumbing Code and Chapter 4716 relating to Plumbing Licensing and Registration (Note: Chapter 4715 is effective Oct. 26, 2009; Chapter 4716 is effective June 22, 2009)

The Plumbing Board is under the statutory authority of Minnesota Statutes 326B.435 to adopt the plumbing code, including any amendments; adopt rules that regulate the licensure or registration of plumbing contractors, journeymen, apprentices, master plumbers, restricted master plumbers, and restricted journeymen and other persons engaged in the design, installation, and alteration of plumbing systems; issue final interpretations of the plumbing code and other items addressed in 326B.435.

The Plumbing Board  has 14 members; 12 that are appointed by the Governor. One member is appointed by the DLI commissioner and one non-voting member is appointed by the commissioner of health.
