Minnesota's 2016 Construction Industry Conference

The 2016 Minnesota Construction Industry Conference was Feb. 18, 2016, at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center.

There will not be a Construction Industry Conference in 2017. Currently, there are no plans for any future Construction Industry Conferences.

This one-day conference provided educational and networking opportunities about highway and heavy, commercial building, residential construction and state contracts and procurement, plus informative general sessions for the entire construction industry. The event also provided updates about current regulations and an opportunity for feedback from the industry about building a better Minnesota.


General sessions

  • State of the Industry: Construction by the Numbers
    An overview of current economic trends for the Minnesota Construction Industry. 

  • Perspectives from Inside the Construction Industry
    This panel included a cross-section of contractors and industry representatives from around the state. Panelists tackled topics about economic stability and sustainability, workforce recruitment and retention plus the challenges and opportunities of working with state and local governments.

  • Ask the Commissioners Panel
    This panel of state commissioners answered questions submitted by attendees.
