Anderson Dahlen receives safety and health award, recognized Sept. 24

Workplace safety and health representatives from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) will recognize Anderson Dahlen, Inc. for its achievement as a Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) worksite during a ceremony at 11 a.m., Sept. 24, at 6850 Sunwood Drive N.W., Ramsey, Minn.

MNSHARP is a Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) program that recognizes companies where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and result in immediate and long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses.

"We congratulate Anderson Dahlen for its leadership in allocating both the time and the resources needed to reach this MNSHARP goal," said Steve Sviggum, Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry commissioner. "We are excited to reward them for their ongoing efforts to reduce on-the-job injuries and illnesses and ensure more workers go home safe and healthy each day."

To achieve MNSHARP status, the company worked with MNOSHA Workplace Safety Consultation to assemble a comprehensive safety and health program that includes management leadership and employee involvement, an allocation of resources to address safety issues, systems that identify and control workplace hazards, and a plan for employee safety training and education.

"Workplace safety is of the utmost importance to our company and its employees," said Thomas Knoll, president, Anderson Dahlen, Inc. "The MNSHARP award shows our employees that a safe work environment is not only important, but it is rewarded by our company and the state of Minnesota. All of our company's efforts are beginning to pay off. Now our employees are more involved in safety and our accidents and injury rates continue to fall."

"At Anderson Dahlen, Inc., our employees and managers have built a solid safety culture that is helping reduce workplace injuries and related costs," said David Knoll, CFO. "We believe our partnership with MNOSHA Workplace Safety Consultation is a valuable component in Anderson Dahlen's efforts to continually improve its safety procedures."

Anderson Dahlen, Inc. provides world-class custom metal fabrication for the food, dairy, pharmaceutical, chemical processing and architectural markets. It also provides the engineered solutions and complete field installation needed to solve processing concerns in these markets.

Commissioner Sviggum and other DLI representatives will commemorate the company's employee employer partnership by presenting a MNSHARP flag and a certificate that exempts the worksite from MNOSHA Compliance scheduled inspections for two years.

MNSHARP began in Minnesota in 1996. Anderson Dahlen, Inc. is one of 31 active MNSHARP worksites in Minnesota. For more information, visit www.dli.mn.gov/mnsharp.asp.
