The division employs six Regional Building Officials who office in six different regions of the state. They have several responsibilities:

• Inspection of Public Buildings and State Licensed Facilities. This will occur when the project is to be constructed in a non-code area of the state or in those code-enforcing areas that don't have a delegation agreement with the state for that work.
• Assisting non-code municipalities with information regarding the State Building Code. This includes making formal presentations to city councils, county and township boards, and other associations regarding benefits of, and how to, adopt the State Building Code.
• Assist Code Administration Services with disaster assessment
