Elevator continuing education requirements

Master elevator constructor

  • Continuing education:  16 Hours
  • 12 hours Minnesota Elevator Code or Elevator Technology;
  • 4 hours on the National Electrical Code;
  • No continuing education required on first initial license term;
  • NOTE:  12 code hours and 4 other related hours will be accepted until February, 2015.

Journeyman elevator constructor

  • Continuing education: 16 hours;
  • 12 hours Minnesota Elevator Code or Elevator Technology;
  • 4 hours National Electrical Code;
  • NOTE:  12 electrical code hours and 4 other related hours will be accepted until after the next renewal cycle.

Limited master constructor

  • Continuing education:  8 hours;
  • 6 hours Minnesota Elevator Code or Elevator Technology;
  • 2 hours on the National Electrical Code;
  • No continuing education required on first initial license term.

Limited journeyman elevator constructor

  • Continuing education:  8 hours;
  • 6 hours Minnesota Elevator Code or Elevator Technology;
  • 2 hours about the National Electrical Code;

Registered unlicensed elevator constructor (RC)

  • Continuing education: 2 hours;
  • 2 hours of Minnesota Elevator Code or Elevator Technology;
