2007 disciplinary actions, revocations, suspensions

Effective Dec. 1, 2007, several changes occurred in the laws and rules regulating the licensing of electricians and the inspection of electrical installations. A few worth noting are:

• Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 1, the commissioner may assess a monetary penalty against any person required to have a license or registration under the applicable law.
• Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 ( c ), if the commissioner revokes a person's license or registration, the person is prohibited from reapplying for the same type of license or registration for a least two years after the effective date of the revocation. As a condition of reapplication, the commissioner may require the person to obtain a bond or comply with additional reasonable conditions the commissioner considers necessary to protect the public.
• Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 326B.33, subd. 7, an individual whose personal license has been revoked, shall be required to retake the examination before being issued a new license.
