Electrical bond information

Minnesota Statute 326B.33, Subd. 15 Bond required. Each electrical contractor shall give and maintain bond to the state in the penal sum of $25,000 conditioned upon the faithful and lawful performance of all work entered upon by the contractor within the state of Minnesota and such bond shall be for the benefit of persons injured or suffering financial loss by reason of failure of such performance. The bond shall be filed with the department and shall be in lieu of all other license bonds to any political subdivision. Such bond shall be written by a corporate surety licensed to do business in the state of Minnesota.

Minnesota Rules Chapter 3800.3740 requests for name of statutory bonding company.

Any political subdivision having an ordinance similar to the Minnesota Electrical Act or any aggrieved owner may obtain the name and address of the statutory bonding company of any person licensed by the department by making written request to the department for information.
