Apprenticeship safety training programs

Safety training programs designed for students (apprentices) preparing for the world of work.

Apprenticeship ratios

Each apprenticeship program must include a numeric ratio of apprentices to journeyworkers consistent with
proper supervision, training, safety, and continuity of employment.

The State of Minnesota Apprenticeship Ratio Policy provides for one journeyworker for the first apprentice
regularly employed plus one apprentice for each additional three journeyworkers employed. This ratio policy,
in the interest of safety and proper instruction of the apprentice, applies to the site at which the work is being
performed.

Safety training programs designed for students

Program One
Eight easy lessons teach students to take precautions in the workplace that might otherwise be taken for granted. Each lesson also helps students to better understand the variety of dangers they might encounter or be exposed to on the job and the best safety practices.

Program Two

Five lessons cover basic health and safety information to help prevent getting injured while on the job.
